Too much talking too much chatter Acquaintances with their cheap pitter-patter You could tell the truth but it won't matter There's too much trouble on the vine I say woo-ooo the Devil is open And woo-ooo God is closed Woo-ooo the King's in drag And the Queen's lost all her clothes Preach your words yet envy neighbors You defend with absent Saviors Love the tastes, condemn the flavors There's too much trouble on the vine I say woo-ooo the Devil is open And woo-ooo God is closed Woo-ooo you could talk all day But you will be exposed Won't cure wrong with quiet confession The judge is death and court's in session You want answers to your questions? There's too much trouble on the vine.

about

In the early days of For Strangers & Wardens, with their original 7-piece line-up, 'Trouble On The Vine' was a lyric-less piece performed live to showcase each members instrumental skills. Having released Retrograde, Tim Mudd & Cody Williams began writing material for a follow-up full-length and their favorite jam became a focal point to begin the process. Finished before another song was even written 'Trouble...' indicates a wider musical direction than it's predecessor and a stepping-stone to the full-length album due for release in Spring 2011.
